The Big Day
Well, today was the big day...the appointment with Dr. Metz, Bella's pediatric dermatologist who did the skin biopsy at CHOC.
The good:
Dr. Metz examined Bella and said her case looks MILD!
Bella weighed in at 9 POUNDS which means she's gained a pound in the last 2 weeks.
Dr. Metz said we were doing a good job with wound care and staying on top of Bella's needs.
The bad:
The biopsy was unable to determine dominant or recessive subtype. Genetic testing needs to be done.
Bella still turns into a gremlin nightly at 8pm.
We'll take it.
Thank you all for your continued love, support, and PRAYERS. They are healing Bella every day. One day, Bella will look back and say, "Yeah, I was born with this rare skin condition, but when they brought me home from the hospital, it went away."
We love you all. Keep it comin'.

So happy to see all the new pictures, what a cutie. Bella's face looks beautiful and clear. I love her very intent look. She is clearly a fighter. Happy also to hear the DR used the word "mild".
You guys are really superstars and doing an amazing job!!

Bella may also look back someday and say, "Yeah, I was born with this rare skin condition, but thank God my family had the love and patience to nurse me into good health"

Glad to read the update -- especially the "mild" part. Pictures are adorable.
I see that big bowl of what looks like the remains of "greens" in front of Ang -- plus noted Bella's weight gain. Doing great, Ang!!
Love to all,
Mom
Anabella was named in the request for prayers in this Sunday's bullitin at St. Columba's in Durango.
Spoke to Pat Deeley, who sends her love and will also pass along requests for prayers to her family.

Those latest pictures made me smile :)
What a sweet face...
(makes me think you are making up the gremlin stuff...but then, I remember that my kids did the same thing...but I remember their bad time to be closer to dinner time)...and, I was not surprised to see Ali, in another princess dress...and using her pink straw cup :)
Thanks for the updates!
