November 13: Chance Favors the Prepared Mind pt 2

Heaveno!

Couple of quick things...

The CA Memorial is tomorrow at 2pm PST.
Chapman University
Wallace All-Faith Chapel
Orange, CA 92866

Park in the Orange Lot right behind the chapel, or park in the underground parking garage under the football field in the Lastinger Complex. You can enter into that off Walnut. Parking passes hopefully will be handed out to you by a Chapman student.

We are going to webcast; sorry I haven't shared that yet. I think one reason I haven't is I'm afraid I don't have enough computers to pull everything we want to do off tomorrow. Yet, if I don't tell you about it, how will you know to watch? See how fear can stop you from following through on the simplest task? It can be pretty subtle!

We'll be using www.ustream.tv again for the webcast and we'll be getting that online around 12:30-1pm, so if you are free, try logging in early so we have some people to give us feedback if the picture is good, sound is good, etc.

All are welcome tomorrow, both online and in person. We can't wait to see you.

Today was a fascinating day; I got to return to the home of Bill Phillips for his special, all day event. There were the top 20 or so marketers in the health and fitness industry, combined with about 20 or so of Joe Polish's top internet marketers. Again, what struck me was how much value the group brings to the world daily. They spent time sharing best practices with each other in the spirit of total cooperation, and they were all in the same field! You'd think they'd be competing against each other, but instead they operate with a philosophy of abundance. They KNOW there are more than enough clients, customers etc. out there for them all to be successful, so instead of stepping on each other to get to those customers, they life each other up first.

Really refreshing. They measure their worth, success, and assets by how much value they create in the world, for the world, and as such, their income becomes a byproduct of value creation, rather than the end itself. This is a very empowering way for me to look at earning an income as an entrepreneur myself. Basically, the more successful I get, the more people I have helped. I love that!

On to something else; does your employer match donations? If so, that is a NO BRAINER for helping raise research $$. Find out if you're unsure.

Tonight, my sister-in-law, Dina, threw a KILLER dinner at her house! My parents are staying with her in town for the memorial, so it was them, Ang's parents, and my aunt and uncle in from AZ as well. Man, we got it GOING at dinner tonight! We were laughing and cracking up left and right. That was really healthy, and really fun to do with family.

Lastly, I want to apologize; the blog posts have been a little light during these events. I have been generating at a high level mentally, physically, and emotionally for 3 days straight (4 if you include tomorrow), so by the time I get to the blog, I'm just tapped out. I've been giving "both barrels" to those I've been in meetings and discussions with, and haven't saved much for you! LOL. This is a community that means so very much to me. I want to continue to write daily, and plan to, and as such, I have to recognize that there will be times when I'm hitting it hard on the blog, and sometimes when I'm just barely checking in.

You know what? That is OK.

Being around so many healthy people today really confronted me as I can't fit into most of the clothes I came home to. I struggle with consistency in my diet and exercise. For as long as I have eaten well and exercised, I have also gone without, and this dropping out model has negated all the hours I've spent in the gym over the years.

So, running just a little is better than not running at all, and so I take the same position here. Blogging daily is a good way for me to practice a daily habit... like I do it no matter what, because that level of commitment is what is required to have a breakthrough in my health and vitality.

Remember, as the late great Jim Rohn said so eloquently and succinctly: success is easy to achieve, it's just that it's also easy not to achieve.

In what arena of your life do you struggle with consistency?

God night.

I think that's baby food...

  1. I am sure the Memorial today will be spectacular. Bella will always be remembered and your message has spread around the globe.

I think people realize your blogging will be up and down in terms of quantity. However, quality will always be there as well as a heartfelt and honest post.

  3. Beautiful pictures and Bella saying hello (or give me five) with her little hand ...so cute...
Regarding what you write everyday,"you know what? That's OK". Please, don't apologize. You can't write every post with a deep thought. And we can't think so much everyday either!!!It's nice to know just how you are all doing. It's great that your family can be together for the memorial.
    Praying for all of you,
    Mariana,UK
PS I'm not consistent either with my diet!

  5. I'm really looking forward to meeting you guys in person today. I'm nervous because I'll have both rugrats in tow and no husband with me for support. I'm gonna be out numbered. :0)

That is awesome that you are making friends and hopefully those friends can help you raise awareness and money for EB research. We'll be that much closer to a cure.

Love the picture of Bella today. Beautiful!

  8. I am watching the memorial....listening to you sing. I love the ripples song (you need to do a cd :)) My favorite part so far...Ali popping up on stage and giving the most amazing smile.

For me I am not consistent with my diet. I wish that were easier to be consistent with.

I have to get back to watching the rest of the memorial...you just finished singing. :)

Sending my love to all and sweet kisses to Ali.

  9. Beautiful. All of it. The comments about Bella. Beautiful.

I was in the middle of the meditation and it just stopped (problem on my end maybe...slower connection). I am so bummed...I feel like I missed the end. I was to the part where we could interact with Bella, talk to her and give her gifts. Then it popped back to the beginning. I love this part of the memorial. The meditation was amazing. I felt like I was able to hold Bella and to be able to really tell her I love her. The room we ended up in? Alis and Bellas bedroom. We were sitting at their little table.

    Thanks for sharing this Tim.
