October 31: Atlanta, GA to New Orleans, LA

Heaveno and Happy Halloween!

I can already tell this post might be in total gibberish as I can't keep my eyes open. We had a great road trip to New Orleans today. We did the French Quarter, then went to see baby Tripp and his family. We are staying with them tonight. Another beautiful day on the road. Ali is really starting to get the groove; she was great all day today, and it was our longest run yet.

Hilarious time in the french quarter... Ali STOLE the show. Beads beads Beads. Then, my camera died. Maybe for the best? ;)

There were a lot of pictures taken of the "Superfamily!"...

Baby Tripp is surrounded my more love (and toys) than you can imagine. Courtney, her mom, dad, and rest of the family are just so so sweet.

Too tired to go on...

God night.

Trendy mirror not exactly functional for all...

Now it works!

Ali was so excited; she said she finally got to hold Bella (I know...)...

This one is Ang's request. Man, we miss that kid...

  5. Love the costumes!!! I've definitely seen a mirror like that in a hotel as well. Seriously - what on earth were they thinking? (I guess Ang just needed her super powers to reach it!)

Glad you guys had a good Halloween! Mine was fun, although my friends and I missed out on the pig races at the pumpkin farm because the GPS took us about 15 miles out of the way, making us get there too late for the last races of the day. Oh-well... there are worse things in life!

Ok - it's time for me to go to bed (stayed up late tonight so that I can sleep during the day on Monday and get back on my night schedule for work)!!!

Hope you continue to have safe travels!

I also love the pic of angie! I'm 5' 2" - husband 6' 3" - he just hung a mirror for me yesterday and said "i figured if i couldn't see my fac it would be the perfect height for you" - and he was right!

  8. I knew I should have guessed the super hero route. :) Great costumes!

What were they thinking when they put that mirror up? At least it makes for a couple of funny pictures and proves where there is a will there is a way.

Ali the dear girl. She got the water works going this morning.

I have to mention that since I told you about having a hard time remembering to pray I have been able to remind myself and "get it done". I think what made it so hard was...I have a very specific order I pray in. Scarlett, Hannah, my eb babies and 2 precious babies that died (one from cancer the other CHD). Moving Bella to the end of my prayers was one of the hardest things I have ever done. But I have and I "talk" to her right before I go to sleep.

I wish I could meet Tripp...I am so jealous! :)

Sending my love to all and some of the sweetest kisses and biggest bunches of hugs for Ali. Continued safe travels.

  9. LOVE the costumes and so perfectly fitting for you all!

We moved our desks at work this weekend and this morning did not go so smoothly, but as soon as I saw that picture I was all smiles!

I am glad your "SUPER" family had a super time in New Orleans!

Love the picture of Bella! I never got to meet her, but I miss her too!
    Prayers for continued safe travel!

  13. And no one guessed the costumes! So glad you had a good time.

LOVE the photo of Bella, of course you miss her, she is precious. How could you not? I was talking with a lady who lost her child young and she said, "I'll miss him everyday until I see him again. It never goes away and I wouldn't want it to."

Jeez = I feel a loss and I never experienced her adorable self. Not sure I'll ever forget your sweet girl.

Great costumes! If you get time, would love to see the photos of you all and Trip.

Safe journey - Kim from California
PS...ANYTIME you get up to Silicon Valley, I'd love to meet Bella's family.

Do I get PARTIAL credit for guessing the Incredibles? Pretty close, you've got to admit. Good choice, Super Family!
Glad to see you all enjoying your time in New Orleans; what a crazy place, even crazier on Halloween, I'd guess (especially with the big football game). The mirror photos are hilarious!
Safe travels to your next stop; see you on the 14th!

  17. Hi again,
I'm glad y'all had a good time in my neck of the woods! It sure was perfect weather for the French Quarter and all the attractions of New Orleans. The Saints won, so that makes it even better!
Y'all looked awesome! I thought about y'all all day, wondering what kind of adventures you'd find in the French Quarter! I'm glad y'all got to visit with Tripp. I follow his journey too and he holds a special place in my heart and prayers.
I know EXACTLY what Ang with the mirror feels like. I'm 5'2", my husband is 6'4". I can't let him hang up anything! But he does come in handy changing light bulbs.
It broke my heart to read that Ali finally got to hold her sister. Well now Bella gets to hold hers too.
Be safe on that road and come back this way one day!
    Lots of love,
    Mandy

  19. Hey Ringgold family!

I've been reading each day but haven't had a chance to comment (reading on my phone instead of computer, which makes it hard to type). It was so great to see you all in Winston-Salem the other night, to hear your voices, share some hugs and hear you play/sing some beautiful music. I thought about you all and Bella the whole way back on the drive to Durham, and how fortunate I am to have been able to be a part of your lives and her life in some small way. I've also been thinking a lot about community and what it means to stay connected to people and really be a part of something.

The super hero costumes are adorable. You're truly an incredible group of people. Stay safe on your journey - I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing more from your trip. Thanks, as always, for sharing a piece of your lives and hearts with us.
