December 13, 2010: Shift

Heaveno!

This might sound funny, but something happened to me this weekend and I don't quite have the words to express just what it was.  I'll just try to keep it simple and say that a massive shift occurred in my thinking this weekend about a great many things.  In addition, I received some energy work from a practitioner that was at the conference.  He offered it to me after hearing about my daughter while I was on stage.  He said that in his practice, he has found energy work to be particularly effective in treating grief, particularly for those who are stuck or frozen in their grief, and now have weakness in their body from it.

Being a complimentary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapist myself, who was I to say no?  I am very clear that our body is simply a constellation of energy in movement, as are all things.  Those who can clinically manipulate body energy are simply trained to do so.  So, we went to work, and within just a few seconds, he looked at me and said, "Um, you're okay!  Your grief isn't causing any weakness in your body.  You're good."

That was pretty cool to hear.  I've said it on here before:  Pain is nothing more than weakness leaving the body.  I have been very open and attentive to my grief pain as it comes to me and through me.  I have not resisted it at all, and I guess as a result, I have not been weakened by my grief, but frankly strengthened.  Once again, I'm just trying to keep up with Angelique!  Now, enjoy the Pink Floyd Laser Light Show put on by Ali when she got her hands on my camera tonight on the way home from daycare....

Thanks to everyone who has been using iGive.com for online purchases and searches.  So far, we raised $95.96 for PUCK just by doing what we already do through their free site!  What a no-brainer!  So, if you still have some holiday shopping to do online, why not use iGive.com?  Also, if you have anyone on your list still, get them a copy of Bella's Blessings!  Remember, half the proceeds from all book sales no goes straight to PUCK.

P.S.  Someone asked about where PUCK money goes... my colleague at PUCK, Lonni Mooreland, is meeting with our parent organization, Children's Cancer Research group, this week to get an itemized account of where things sit and where they go.  Keep you posted on that!

Okay, gotta go and get more sleep.  Had a great day full of peace and productivity, but I still need some more zzzzzz's to catch up!

God night.

  1. Tim,
All the pictures today were just wonderful, especially that one of Bella looking at all of us reminding us all to Keep Moving to find a cure!

I am glad to hear that you are truely working through the pain and letting it move through you - that is something I don't do well and know my body suffers for it. Good reminder for me!

I really like the iGive site - each little snowflake making a difference! I have started to to also collect all my change at work to donate to PUCK.

  3. Sorry I haven't commented in a while, been busy with "stuff". No excuse. Been here, been reading, always thinking of you guys.

FYI you missed the biggest storm of the decade this weekend. About 15" of the white stuff. School is still cancelled in Minneapolis and St. Paul today and the storm was on Saturday and Sunday. If MnDOT can't get the snow taken care of quickly, that means there was a LOT of snow.

Enjoy your warm temperatures, I'm not jealous at all (that's a lie, I'm trying to convince myself I love this stuff).

    Enjoy reading your entires everyday.

I am sending out fundraising requests with my Christmas cards this year, only they are going to be New Years cards because I don't have time right now (pharmacy school+ finals= everything waits), but I am excited about that! I also am planning more fundraising!

    Have a great day.
