February 13, 2011: Still Too Tired to Blog...

Happy Valentine's Day if you are reading this Monday!  I left this up over the weekend, since most people don't check in as much over the weekend.  I want each and every (hopefully) blog reader to watch this video.  I think it has a lot of value and use for anybody.  We just added a new campaign to our arsenal to reach $3 million.  I will write more about it in my Monday night post.

Life is God.  Awesome.  I meant to type Life is Good.  God just keeps sneaking into my salutations!

God night.

  1. i'll link this to my fb profile.

if anyone ever had any doubts about what/how/why you are doing, this should surely clear them.

you are an awesome speaker indeed. And brave.

Bella and this Community are proud of you.

  2. 1 comment so far, on a saturday, hahahaha! yeah, people DO read blogs at work! :-)

  3. Wow! To see you in action is great! Bella is probably smiling down from heaven saying, "That's my dad!". Great job!

  4. I totally get the whole idea of not letting yourself feel that guilt. I had to make a life/death decision about my child and I know the choice that was made was for the best. I never once felt guilt because I did what was right. Controversial to many, but right to me!!

  5. Tonight I sit at my computer crying because of the "what if" questions that get you sometimes. One of the hardest parts of being a parent is making decisions when they are too young to make them. I am going through the decision making process right now for Noah and it leaves in tears wondering if I am doing what is right in the end for him and for Clara too (what I decide can impact Claras health). This decision is nothing compared to what you faced with Bella (not trying to compare). We do what we think and know to be right in our hearts...we trust God..we shouldnt have to struggle with the what ifs down the road too. I am sorry you have to. You are both amazing parents. Bella was as lucky to have you as you were to have her.

I agree with Anon above...but must change it a little...because I KNOW Bella is smiling down saying "Thats my dad and mom!".

Sending my love to all and the sweetest of kisses to Ali.

  6. Tim,

Amazing. That's all I can think to say after watching your speech. I still think about your "pain vs. suffering" thing almost every day and remind myself that dwelling in pain is not worth it. By every right, your family could dwell in pain and we'd all understand. So what you are doing is that much more impressive to all of us that are thinking, "Shouldn't he just be too upset to do much of anything?"

  7. My son is two and also suffers from EB. We are fortunate in that it appears to be EBS Weber-Cockayne. He usually gets scratches and nicks easier than other kids. He mainly blisters on his hands, feet and cant wear shoes. I appreciate who you are and what you are doing.

  8. Hello Ringgolds!! WOW, I've been out of it for a while now...I haven't been able to use the computer for about a week now and I have been having MAJOR Bella withdrawls! LOL I just wanted to let you know that I am still here and I love you all! I LOVE the video! Very inspiring.

  9. P.S. If you are able to make it happen that we can just text BELLA and donate $5, lets see if we can make it that the cell phone company will match the donation up to a certain amount!! Just a thought!

  10. Dear Ringgolds,

Amazing speech. Very objective and clear but so heart felted. Bella is so proud of her parents!
You are a source of inspiration to us all.

Lots of blessings and a special kiss to Ali (she is just adorable),

  11. Man am I glad I didn't apply my make up before watching the clip. But of course it brought smiles to my face, and as always, lots of inspiration. As Karen said above, I think about your "pain vs. suffering" almost everyday, and that's helped me more than I can really explain. You bring such great insights, thank you.

Blessings to you and your family,

  12. Just watched the really are an inspiration and your message was one I needed right now. I have learned so much from you...thank you.

    LOVE the socks. :)

Sending my love to all and the sweetest of kisses for Ali. Now I am kicking myself. I just remembered I have a Valentine card I made for Ali...that I forgot to pop in the mail. I guess she will get it a few days late.
