December 11, 2010: Wow...

Heaveno!

... what a day!

So much to share, but again, I am wiped. out.  Day three of our seminar and I got to watch the great T. Harv Ecker completely crush it on stage today.   The guy is amazing.  Harv gave us complimentary tickets to his upcoming seminar in LA in February!  Let me tell you why I go to so many conferences and seminars.  People.  Lots of people.  Lots of GREAT people.  People who are passionate about their life and want to improve it constantly.  People who have risen to the top of their game and now want to teach it to others.  Smiles, handshakes, powerful conversations with complete strangers.

I was commenting to a lady yesterday that there is a certain dynamic in wearing a conference badge that makes you feel just a little bit more comfortable talking to a stranger if they are wearing that same badge.  In fact, seminars are more fun than conferences in that respect, because conferences are usually filled with groups of pre-existing cliques, but seminars rarely have more than 2-4 people who came together.  People come specifically TO connect, to meet new friends and associates, and maybe even future collaborators.

Well, I ended up on stage at this seminar today.  500 people.  The story about changing my speech on Thursday?  I shared it with James' sister, his assistant, yesterday.  She asked me to write it in an email to her.  I got an email back saying to meet her at the back table this morning.  I did, and she said, "Davey (the C.O.O.) wants to meet you."  So, she takes me to meet him, and he gives me a hug!  I'm a little confused at this point, but Davy offers his condolences, and mentions that Cindy had forwarded my email to him.  He then asks me if I would feel comfortable sharing my story from the email up on stage at some point today.  (Does a bear _____ in the woods?)

So, at the end of the day, it's that time, and James introduces me like a ROCKSTAR.  He was SO generous in his introduction, he really was awesome.  So, I share my story in front of 500 this evening (300 on Thursday night - not bad), and James has NO IDEA that this happened with UCI.  I look over at him across the stage and his jaw is on the ground and while the crowd was cheering for me at the end of my share, he and I just start laughing and walk together and he gives me just the biggest hug you could imagine.  We are laughing, because when he invited me to be his guest, neither of us had any idea it might just be the thing that keeps the music therapy alive at UCI!  What an awesome team between him and Cindy and Davy to allow me to share Bella's story with this new GIANT group.  He let me plug the blog as well... I could hear pens hitting paper as I spelled it out.  I sent everyone to Bellasblessings.com so they could get a nice view of my book, which still continues to be a book of inspiration... anyone you don't have a gift for?  Send them this a way!

Okay, then I went to a limited release of Discover the Gift with my client, Christine Stevens at this adorable home in LA.  We all got to watch the first reel of the movie in its almost-done-stage of completion.  This is going to be a MAJOR release in 2011, and Christine is the only musician featured in the film!  It was awesome.

Okay, I am spontaneously dreaming will typing.  That's how tired I am right now!  I'm gonna run for now.  Thank you all for walking in this journey with us.

God night

  3. Hi Tim - Congratulations on your continued opportunities to share Bella's story! Very exciting for you! I am in awe of people who can speak in front of a group, because that is something that scares the liver out of me!

I'm one of those "lurkers" that rarely posts a comment. I came across your blog a number of months ago and faithfully read it every day (right after I read the local newspaper!) I live in northern Minnesota, and was looking forward to reading about Ali playing in the snow, but that was not to be. Minneapolis received about 17 inches of snow yesterday. Today is too cold & windy for kids to play outside (it is 1 degree below zero right now & the forecast for today is for only a high of 6 degrees above zero).

Anyway - I just wanted to let you know that I continue to read your blog every day and am inspired by your mission.

    Take care,
    Barb

  5. AWESOME Tim!!! Is there any way you can post a video of these seminar speeches you are doing this week? Like you did that other one? I would love to see you in action. It sounds very interesting!! I'm so glad this is all going so good for you. I really hope you can get all the funding you need.

The picture of Bella tonight is gorgeous. She looks so comfy and soft and you can't see a single blemish on her at all!! She just looks perfect.

  8. I always want to comment but can't because 99% of the time I'm reading this one my phone around 4am, and my phone won't let me comment. So while I'm actually ON a computer I just wanted to let you know that I read every single one of your posts, and I'm so thankful for all that you write. Your descriptions about grief and the grieving process have helped me immensely and I just wanted you to know how special you are. I know that because of you and all the work you're doing they WILL find a cure for EB. Bella is a special, amazing girl who fulfilled her purpose in this life in such a short time. That's powerful!!! You should be SO proud!

    Love from North Texas
